Ford Motor plans to launch more than 30 new vehicle models in China over three years as part of its efforts to accelerate its products development and market distribution in China.
The new models will be under the Ford and Lincoln brands and 10 of them will be new-energy vehicles, said Anning Chen, president and chief executive of Ford China. He said the company would also step up research and development on autonomous driving, the Beijing News reported.
Ford will become a global brand that will strive to know the Chinese consumer better, he said. The company also plans to set up a center of innovation, design and new energy in China and deepen its cooperations with local partners Changan Automobile and Jiangling Motors.
The president of Lincoln Asia-Pacific and China, Mao Jingbo, said Lincoln would debut three new models this year, including the Aviator sport-utility vehicle.
